Http request with accept "text/event-stream" (server-sent events)

Does someone implemented the feature server-sent events into a game. It’s like a socket, but with a plain http connection, so the server can sent anytime new events to the listener. Is this possible with cocos2d-x or do I need any special c++ library to have this feature?
