I am doing some research for a potential project and I really want to use Cocos Creator for this as it has worked well for us in the past. The big feature of this project is to be able to push new content from our server so we don’t have to go through the app submission process again. I’ve done some research into implementing this feature and haven’t come up with any way to be able to download a scene file and then load that scene file to play that content. I looked at this tutorial regarding “Hot Updating” https://github.com/cocos-creator/tutorial-hot-update. I wasn’t able to really get anywhere with that so far. I get an error message about the scene not existing in the settings file during the build which makes sense since that file didn’t exist at that point.
My hope is to have something where I can deploy a single asset bundle that contains the scene and all needed asset files for that scene, load it, and play it without having to build anything else. This sounds nearly impossible with Cocos Creator as it currently is.
Is there a work around for this at all? It sounded like Cocos Creator 1.3 should have some additional functionality that may make this a possibility. Could I be pointed to somewhere in the Cocos Creator code that I could modify or create a plugin for that might support this?
