HI!
i wanted to assign a font that i have in my resource folder to a cclabel…
my code was this: CCLabelTTF *tryyy = CCLabelTTF::create(“fffdfdf”, “Porpoise.ttf”, 30);
i have also tried to assign the font without the “.tff”…
But when i compile it, the text is just shown with the normal ariel font!!!
ALWAYS THE ARIAL FONT, but how can i assign the custom font so that it works…,…
Please help!
make sure you have Porpoise.ttf
in the right location. Usually in Resources
it is in my resource folder…whats then the prob sir…?
Look at your console output and see if you find a “Font Not Found” Or “Missing Resource” or something of that wording.
there stands nothing in the output, have read the whole…Take a look at the image please xD:
you are not adding .ttf
to the file name when you specify it in the CCLabel creation.
as I said in the first text, I have already tried that xD…
But still nothing, can u PLEASE help me more, and ty for ur time xD
ok, put the .ttf back in, and send me another pic showing the console.
Also, specify a different size than 50, something more like 32 and see
Also, are you getting the correct values for setPosition()
?
I’m attaching another .ttf font. Please drop it in and try, see if it works.Marker Felt.ttf.zip (16.2 KB)
WOOOOOOOW THANK U!
It was just my stupid FONT which obviously didn’t WORK!\
THANKS, i really appreciate ur time!
Sure. No Problem. That font is free, so feel free to use it.
Is it related to this? Maybe not, but just for info…
Hi, I’m new to Cocos2d-x although a very experienced game programmer. I’ve been messing around with the HelloWorld example and cannot get a custom .ttf font to work on Windows.
All I’ve done is change the “Hello World” line to:
CCLabelTTF* pLabel = CCLabelTTF::create(“Hello World”, “Abberancy.ttf”, 24);
I then copied the Abberancy.ttf font file into the root Resources folder for HelloCpp. Thinking it is a path issue, I copied the .ttf into /fonts and /ipadhd and some other subdirectories just…
Good idea, I’m not sure. Though I dont think this would get fixed in 2.x if it was.
Worth checking to see if it carried over to v3.x though…
You’re the man to do it!
@slackmoehrle Can you change your avatar? It makes me cringe every time I see it.
yeah, I can try this out. Label was changed so much for v3.
My avatar? LOL, I took that pic when someone told me I was to “sharp tongued and I shouldn’t always say what I mean, but rather sugar coat things more”
@slackmoehrle
Fair enough. But with people get beheaded and stuff these days. Please change it
