Wiring cc.sprite in cocosbuilder to variable in javascript controller- stuck

Using cocosbuilder 3.0a, javascript/html5 project. Trying to wire this sprite in ccb to its counterpart in code. Does not appear to be working; its “onEnter” and ctor is never called. What am I doing wrong here?
