Thanks for posting this Gur.

I know of a few other games written in cocos2d-x, we recently did a few interviews with developers on our Blog too.

Great article gur

Thanks @Meir_yanovich. Any other games you think we missed?

There are few but not successful as the one you mentioned in the article.
Also in the Slots/Poker industry allot of them made with cocos2d-x

@gurdotan
They have used Flash for Facebook version of the game to develop.check out those popup in the screenshot.I wonder whether cocos2dx need Flash Player for web app to run on Web Browser.

{ShamlessSelfPromotion} You’ve missed mine: https://itunes.apple.com/app/helicopter-mega-splash/id1042383826 :wink: {/ShamlessSelfPromotion}

Would be cool if it mentions which language they used to make the game (cpp, js, lua)

That would require more research and maybe asking the publishers themselves how they build the game

Geometry Dash Lite has Unity Analytics listed as an interesting SDK. Is that available as a standalone library/service???

@almax27 It essentially means that the game is using Unity Analytics. It’s not a standalone library.

I wasn’t aware you could use unity analytics with cocos2d-x

Me too.

Was the game scripted in C#, because the services only come with C# and Unity/JS scripting support.

It seems that they plan providing a number of APIs http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/analytics-apis.297217/

If I understand this correctly, there is also a standalone SDK:

To access Analytics SDK or 5.2 integration instructions, log into analytics.unity3.com and follow the instructions displayed in Integration Pages.

As GD was already done way before the announcement, I’m curious how it was done.

@almax, @iQD I need to rectify what I said earlier. It appears that some of these games were developed at some point in time in Unity but were then ported to Cocos2d-x, or the opposite, and hence our research may have mistakenly put in Unity analytics. It might also differ from one platform to the other. Sometimes studios migrate between engines and port only one platform. Any, I’ll make sure we revisit the data in the blog post. We might find other interesting SDKs to mention instead of Unity Analytics, since it’s not clear yet if it’s a mistake or not. Thanks for calling this out!

seems you forgot to include: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.estoty.game2048

Really awesome games !
I used to know cocos2d-x for a long time but didn’t know it’s this much powerful ! OMG !
I’m happy that I’m joining this community …

Yep, some wicked games made with Cocos2d-x!

@almax27, @iQD we removed the Unity Analytics from there, it was obviously a mistake in our research.

@gurdotan cool, thanks for clarifying :smiley:

Looks really good, like how you have listed the SDKs they use :smiley:

It really comes down to how much effort you are willing to put in, even though UDK looks nice and fancy without effort the games created don’t feel and look beautiful.
