Skeletal Animations in cocos2d-html5?

Hi everyone, I was just looking at this, and now I’m wondering if it’s a viable alternative to sprite frame animations on cocos2d-html5:
http://cocos2d-x.org/projects/cocos2d-x/wiki/Skeletal_Animation

I’ve found no documentation about it and I realize there is no (free) tool for this on a windows machine, so I’m a bit lost as to if it’s even possible to begin with.

Thanks!

There is a free tool for windows machine, CocoStudio .

The default language is Chinese, however, you could switch to English when launching.

Please install the full version when you use it first time.

You could see the second one “CocoStudio完整安装包” in the download page. It means full version installation.

Cocos2d-html5 will support CocoStudio when CocoStudio release its stable version in the near future.

what about spine : http://esotericsoftware.com
that can be used with cocos2d-html5 right?

I’ve been waiting for CocoStudio’s english version since I first heard of it’s existance 11 days ago here:

But I thought that the english version wasn’t ready yet! I’ll go ahead and download the full package on that site then!

Spine is an awesome tool, yet it is not suitable for the 0$ budget I’m constrained to (it’s not that pricey, but it’s not free).

Thanks to both!

Cocos2d-x supports spine now. We plan to support spine in cocos2d-html5 and cocos2d JSB, and it plan to be released after this September.
