Performance issues

I am having serious performance issues with a game I’ve just started with this platform. Is it normal that a game with just a sprite the frame rate is 30.0fps? Even with the HelloWorld example that comes with the framework, a Samsung Galaxy S3 is running at 40.0fps and an old Android device is unable to run it.

If there are techniques to avoid this problems please explain them.
