Have installed Particle Universe Editor from Cocos Store on Windows 7 and I get this error when I launch it:

Please fix this.

@zijian_rao http://www.effecthub.com/particle2dx is not the same as http://particle2dx.com/ ? I use http://particle2dx.com/ but wanted to see what Particle Universe Editor suggests more?

I haven’t tried the editor that is in the Cocos store, but I tried the one from the Particle Universe page, and it works ok:

Try v1.6, which has the .exe

download the d3dx9_42.dll of 32bit, put it into “C:\Windows\system32” and then try again!

You can put d3dx9_42.dll file just into the ParticleUniverse folder and the crash will be fixed.

I had the same problem too. Thanks to your comments I was able to fix it quickly. I fixed it by pasting d3dx9_42.dll file in the location where particle universe editor is installed.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Particle Universe\Particle Universe Editor
