How to use pugixml parse plist file and read and write data on ios

I’m new cocos2d-x, i dont’t understand the diffence “plist file vs xml file” in cocos2dx.
So i search google i find it : http://pugixml.googlecode.com/svn/tags/latest/docs/quickstart.html, but i see it use xml(not plist file). so can i help me
