Crazy Cow Games is looking for front and back end developers for our upcoming innovative strategy game. We’re looking for strong candidates to help us build a killer development team for our studio.
About us:
We are based in Beijing, China, but are a mix of Americans and Chinese.
Our founding members are ex-pro Warcraft 3 gamers turned industry veterans that found that there are very few choices on mobile for the hardcore gamer that wants a deep experience at a casual pace. We started this studio to bring more interesting and deep games to mobile - but not go too far and make games that only a handful of people can play. We believe that there is a balance out there with maximum fun that also monetizes.
The studio is fully-funded and was founded last month. We’re still small right now, but plan on growing up to 10-15 within the next few months. Anyone joining now will get the benefit of helping make key decisions that determine the future of the company.
We work at a relaxed fast pace; we don’t stress out, but we are still trying to get the game out as quick as we can at the quality we are shooting for. The office is a wide-open space, and we often hang out after work and grab beers. There are plenty of choices of food nearby.
We plan on releasing the game first in Chinese and then in English internationally. China is a growing market and from a business standpoint makes sense to do if you can (but it’s very hard to do - we just happen to have a team that can). We hope to release an alpha version of the game before the end of the year
Beijing is a great place for the mobile games industry right now. China is a growing market, the cost of living is low, but there is a lot of upcoming talent here.
What we’re looking for:
Lead Front-End Developer:
Requirements:
2+ years experience with Cocos2d and both IOS/Android game development
Strong Knowledge of C++, Objective-C, and Lua. Java is a huge plus
Strong programming fundamentals
Have shipped at least two mobile products in which you were involved from the beginning
Able to write re-usable code
Strong communication skills, able to break technical issues into easily understood terms
Strong game sense, able to fill in blanks left by game designers and/or artists
Take initiative to improve projects and work without explicit direction
Understanding of agile development and project management, conscious of schedule and priorities
Love to play games
Experience with Unity and 3d games is a plus for future projects
Chinese language ability is a huge plus
Responsibilities:
In charge of all front-end development, including creating and adapting tools for game designers and artists, game logic, visualization, UI, cross-platform development, device compatibility, SDK integration (client side), managing other developers, etc
Work closely with the Design team to plan features and evaluate technical feasibility
Work closely with the Art team to polish the game
Interview potential team candidates and build a strong team
Lead code-review sessions with team members and help other team members improve
Manage the front-end development schedule
Lead team to finish sprint goals and update project owner on progress
